Choose  your project

Choice A- Book page art- Highlight words and add illustrations and color. Cutting out pictures from a magazine will make this more colorful. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Choice B- Magazine page silhouette collage- Pick a silhouette. Pick a background. Cut magazine strips. Glue on the background covering the silhouette.

Choice C- Combine the two. It’s up to you.

Go over Friday #25-
Pds 1,4 &7- You will need to read and reference at least one source for your essay.
Pds 2&8- You may use a source if you like. Otherwise, focus on your own reflection.

Tuesday- Today you can choose your project.

Choice A- Coloring- (You may do this with a partner!) Find ONE article about the benefits of coloring in adults and/or teens. Read it and summarize in no more than 5 sentences. Submit your answer to Classroom. Then get a coloring sheet and have fun with it!

Choice B- Zentangle- Find a Youtube video of Zentangle. Learn what it is and why people are doing it. Summarize the video in no more than 5 sentences. Submit your answer to Classroom. Then create your own Zentangle. Remember, there is no erasing in this art form!

What do you want to work on tomorrow? I need silhouette ideas for tomorrow’s project. Please leave your ideas in the bucket.

Friday 24 March- AP Lang

Today we are writing an in-class synthesis essay.

Prompt (In Classroom)-

Jessica Lahey beings her article in The Atlantic by stating, “Letter grades are a tradition in our educational system, and we accept them as fair and objective measures of academic success. However, if the purpose of academic grading is to communicate accurate and specific information about learning, letter, or points-based grades, are a woefully blunt and inadequate instrument.”

In recent years there has been much discussion in the educational community about the purpose and effectiveness of grading students. Write an essay which states your stance on this issue. Be sure your response cites at least 2 sources and clearly takes a stand on the issue of grades.

You may hand write or type.

Nutrition!

Research nutritional information, especially what teenagers need. What does a healthy diet include? What should be avoided? What nutrients are required? What are the best foods to meet those nutritional needs? Don’t focus on calories, instead focus on nutritional requirements.

Make a graphic showing what you’ve learned. You can use either Google Slides or Google Drawing, or some other graphics app.
